Gloria Steinem is a worldwide loved writer, journalist and activist. But, above all, Gloria is a woman of strength, a woman who inspires change, a woman who believes in a world made of equal rights.
In the late 60s, Gloria was a political columnist for the New York Magazine and, by the beginning of the 70s, she founded Ms. Magazine alongside Dorothy Pitman Hughes. Ms. Magazine helped shape contemporary feminism as it translated a movement into a magazine. Gender, class and race were now topics on the public agenda.

Known as “The Mother of Feminism”, Gloria is an inspiration for all women thanks to her endless fight for women’s rights. Like Oprah Winfrey said: “Had there not been Gloria Steinem and her fight for women’s rights, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do the work that I have done”.

Gloria has joined Josefinas’ #ProudToBeAWoman movement, lending her name to Josefinas’ newest special edition: Josefinas Women for Women by Gloria Steinem.

You can join the #ProudToBeAWoman movement by buying the Women for Women edition. Each edition is made of 2 pairs of Josefinas with incrusted crystals on its tips. One pair is yours, the other is for your best friend. When both pairs are facing each other, the crystals create a perfect circle that symbolizes the exclusive world of women’s friendship. By celebrating you friendship, you’re celebrating the transformation of these women’s lives - for each 10 editions sold, we’ll help another woman at risk.
