Josefinas' Book Club: Nothing much happens
Cozy and calming stories to soothe your mind and help you sleep.

Busy minds need a safe place to rest, and “Nothing much happens” proposes an unexpected return to bedtime stories.

In this work, Kathryn Nicolai brings together about fifty short stories designed to provide a serene environment, which aee chronologically organized according to the seasons and supplemented with relaxation tips, recipes, and advice on meditation, among others.

Next to the wonderful illustrations by Léa Le Pivert, in pastel tones, the words take the form of a hug and give us exactly what we need after a hectic day: sensations that transport us to a fictional village, where nothing happens, and only the present and the five senses matter.

It can be weird to think of a book where nothing happens (there are no surprises!), but it's its simplicity that sets it apart from so many others that we find on the shelves of bookstores.

Between the stationery shop, the market, the museum, the spice shop, the café, or the library, with the smell of cinnamon or the comfort of a warm coat, this is the book you will want to keep on your bedside table night after night. Designed to help others, Kathryn's book keeps us warm whenever we read one of its stories – and sometimes that's just what we need.
